Why the Fancy Food Show is indispensable for EU traders
The Summer Fancy Food Show is with almost 2,500 exhibitors from 59 countries the largest culinary showcase in North America. This year 983 world firsts presented – +90% compared to 2024.
Around 14% more visitors than in the previous year, crowding into the Javits Hall; including 8,100 buyers, 378 first-time exhibitors and 90 accelerator brands.
For European retailers, this means: Whoever orders here brings products 6-12 months ahead of mainstream into its shelves – a clear competitive advantage.
Ryan's Specialties and American Heritage were founded back in 2004, and we've been regular attendees at the Fancy Food Show ever since. This year's New York show was full of innovation and excellent exhibitors, so I'd like to declare it the best show of all.

Import practice: regulations, labeling and our services for our B2B trade
1. Complex EU regulation – new rules every year
Food imports are becoming more complex every year due to EU regulations: Novel Food Regulations, changed limits for aflatoxins, allergen listing according to the Food Information Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, regulations for honey imports, packaging licensing in the EU, TRACES registration for organic and animal products, etc., are constantly changing. Many US manufacturers are unaware of the details, and European delicatessens can no longer handle it all – which is precisely what we do every day.

FAQ – US Import for Delicatessens

Why can't I find the entire range of products offered at the trade fair in the EU wholesale market?
→ Most US brands don't yet have an EU distributor or fail to meet labeling requirements. We close this gap. -
Are there minimum order quantities (MOQ)?
→ For first-time customers, we also offer smaller test orders and samples. Our minimum order value for retailers is a manageable €200. -
How long is the delivery time?
→ For deliveries from Augsburg, we offer shipping via DHL and the freight forwarding company Dachser. We usually deliver within a few days. -
Are all products vegan?
→ The products listed here are all vegan by chance (Elmhurst - Plant Milks), All Y'Alls Foods (vegan jerky) Miller's and Sunday Night Vegan Sauce), but we also import many other items such as aiolis and dressings containing milk and eggs. These products are presented to the veterinary office at the German port in accordance with regulations and are therefore legally imported.
